The concept for the CGI logo was taken from the original used by the NCSA CGI project.

The CGI 1.1 Specification project completed in October, 2004, with the acceptance of RFC 3875.

The project to investigate CGI/1.2 never really got off the ground, although there are occasional flickers of interest. If you are interested in reviving the CGI/1.2 discussions, please send an email to Ken Coar saying so.
